Raising awareness of VEDS: Evie's story

Sam named Lockdown Hero!
Job Vacancies

I’m Naomi Clark and I’m the Service Manager for Peterborough, East Cambs and Fenland. I have worked for P3 for nearly two years now and live in Fenland with my husband, our three boys and our dog, Charlie. My eldest, Isaac, has appeared in the blog a few times since lockdown, becoming an honorary member of the team!
When I am not working or running my boys about to one of their many hobbies, we enjoy being at the seaside in north Norfolk or at the cinema catching a film. I also enjoy baking and making my own gin, which has won multiple awards at our village produce show!
On the blog this week, I would like to share with you about a new project in Fenland.
During lockdown we have added a young parent project to our service. Some members of my team have been particularly excited about this project as all the young parents who have moved in are currently expecting, and there will soon be some newborn babies. One baby has been born so far, though no cuddles allowed at present—thanks covid!
The project is very different to our floating support; we are providing support to a unit of four flats for young people with children, and supporting them with skills for the future such as developing positive relationships, independent living and guidance with education and employment opportunities.
The flats come fully furnished including all kitchen items, leaving young parents fully equipped for life and able to fully concentrate on building their family’s future. When they are ready we will nominate them to move on to permanent independent accommodation.
You can hear about how one of our young mums is getting on with her new arrival below, as well as a personal story from a member of my team.
Hope you enjoy,
Naomi
