Look out for support worker Helen Chase from P3 Warwickshire on Radio 4’s The Listening Project at 9:45am and 5:40pm this Sunday 1 December!
The interview is for the Radio 4’s Christmas Appeal with St Martin-in-the-Fields, highlighting the difference organisations working together can make in enabling people to turn their lives around.
The focus is on Noel and his story, after a series of setbacks and family bereavement left him with nowhere to live.
Helen worked alongside him in Nuneaton, and secured a grant from the Vicar’s Relief Fund so that Noel could put down a deposit which led to him being able to get a new job.
Noel said: “I came to a point where I thought ‘now, there’s no car to sleep in… You’re not able to sleep in the park, you are not able to find somewhere warm because it’s getting too cold. So I went online and started searching for help.”
“[P3] were just waiting there … Just helping people out … We just talked about what’s gone on, why I’ve got to this stage. Things they could do to help me to move forward.”
In further good news, Noel will soon be joining P3 as a member of staff team in Nuneaton. He is also planning to run the London Marathon for P3. We look forward to welcoming him aboard!
