Name: Claire Quilley
Position:Floating Housing Support Worker
Location:Buckinghamshire
What does your role involve?
Supporting people at imminent risk of eviction and/or in significant rent arrears. Preventing eviction where possible and reducing debts. Identifying other support needs that will enable clients to move forwards and maintain independent living.
What did you do before you came to P3?
Support Worker for Connection Support where we were transferred from. In the past I have worked at the Kennel Club assisting at Crufts with microchipping and Buckinghamshire County Council where I was fortunate enough to work on the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012. I am also a jewellery designer and used to sort diamonds for a living.
What has been the highlight of your job so far?
P3’s positivity and preventing eviction at a third court eviction hearing – helping people to feel a bit better at a difficult time.
What is the biggest challenge?
Accepting that I can’t change the whole world...we start with a part of it and the best gift I can give is for clients to be able to help themselves.
Where was your photo taken?
At a 90’s night with my sister. The Dalek sang me happy birthday!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Apart from time travel, I would like to set up a school uniform charity, as lots of families miss rent or food to pay for school stuff. Let me know if anyone wants to join forces and has a magic wand I can use ☺
Who is the most famous person you’ve met?
Prince Edward.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
Too many by just being me!
