A garden mission in Nuneaton

Casey Aucott form Warks Places to Stay (Young People) has been working with SOT worker Paula Bailey on a mission to transform the garden at Mardale House in Nuneaton.

Mardale House is on Manor Court Road in Nuneaton and provides supported accommodation for 18-24 year olds. We have eight young people living here currently and are hoping to welcome our ninth very soon.

At the moment we’re doing a general tidy of the garden ready for the pots and plants to be placed. Paula has managed to get lots of gardening equipment donated (as she’s a gardener herself, she knows the right people to ask!) and we have planted the seeds for flowers and runner beans. We are hoping to plant strawberries next week as well and make planters out of old pallets at some point, which will be fun. The greenhouse has also been donated, so the only thing we have had to buy so far is soil.

After some serious weeding/clearing…!

If it weren’t for Paula’s help, I would still be stuck, lol! It’s still a work-in-progress, with a lot more planned and the next step is to get some nice garden furniture, so if anyone has any benches or chairs/tables to donate, please let me know at casey.aucott@p3charity.org.
