Job Vacancies

Welcome to this week’s blog, from the lovely Tin Hat Office in Nottinghamshire. Here’s just a short intro from me ☺
My name is Tess and my job was to look after the P3 Fleet which I’ve been doing for a few years, and have really enjoyed my time in this role. But there are a few changes happening… as many people may be aware Lisa McNally is no longer with P3, and Rebecca Gratton is taking over the Fleet and Stock role as of 2 March.
I will be moving to Wolverhampton for a few years to build up our housing stock in that area, with the SASH (Social and Sustainable Housing) money we have recently been awarded to buy 36 units of accommodation. My new role will be the Property Manager there.
So Sammy Bailey, you’d best be nice to me☺
Before I leave the world of Fleet behind, here’s some info about the upcoming Low Emission Zones (don’t say I don’t treat you!)
I hope you enjoy the rest of the blog this week. Keep safe and be kind.

As you all know, P3’s getting green, and it’s something we’ve been looking at for our fleet.
We’ve got an order of electric vehicles coming in April for us to trial, and moving forward, we’re going to gradually switch over all our vehicles to hybrid or electric alternatives. We’ve got 161 vehicles in our fleet at the moment, a mixture of buses, van and cars, so this will make a big difference.
This year, quite a few UK cities and regions will become ‘Low Emission Zones’ or ‘Clean Air Zones’. This means if your vehicle’s over a certain CO emission level, you may have to pay a charge when driving in these zones.
The zones aim to improve air quality in areas which have a lot of air pollution. By introducing a fee for vehicles which have high emissions, they’re trying to follow London’s example and discourage people from driving in these areas.
Not all of the Low Emission Zones are in effect yet, but these are the places which are planning to launch them in 2020:
Birmingham
Bath and North Somerset
York
Leeds
London
Oxford
Scotland
All the areas have slightly different charges, so you can find more here: https://www.confused.com/on-the-road/cost-of-motoring/low-emission-zones-2020
You can also check if your vehicle will be charged by typing in your reg on this website: https://www.gov.uk/check-clean-air-zone-charge.
