Hi everyone

This week’s blog is brought to you from the beautiful county of Derbyshire.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jane Derbyshire and I manage our Mental Health Services in the area, along with Deputy Service Manager Claire Robinson. So, a little bit about what we do…

iDecide provides accommodation-based and floating support to clients who experience mental ill health. We also have around 150 Intensive Housing Management properties with a team of 17 support staff based everywhere from the northern reaches of Buxton/Glossop (which borders Manchester!) right down to Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, on the border with Leicestershire/Staffordshire. P3 have manged this contract since April 2003, and I started working for P3 on 1st June so I’ve been privileged to have worked on it from its infancy.

Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service is still fairly new. A key part of this service is building confidence and integrating people into their local community via groups, with a view to eventually making the support peer-led. The small but perfectly formed team of 4 have worked really hard to get the project up and running, with lots of positive feedback.

Our newest service is South Derbyshire Homelessness Prevention, which is a pilot contract for a year, with the aim of preventing people who are at threat of eviction from becoming homeless by working intensively with them and their landlords.

We work alongside Derbyshire Homelessness Service and BeWell, both of which compliment the services we provide. So a big up to all the staff who work in Derbyshire, I am proud to work alongside you all.

Jane
