Hi everyone

Hi everyone from RPT in London, we hope you have had a wonderful week enjoying the late summer sunshine.

This week’s blog takes a look back at how our services in London have had to adapt during this very unusual summer. So, what does a team do when our largely underground community building, which normally supports hundreds of children, young people and families, has to close its doors?

The RPT team has set about with great creativity and determination re-designing our services and within four weeks, we managed to shift our Homework Club online, providing educational support to primary school children through over 40 volunteers. Check out what one of our brilliant volunteers, Juliet, has to say in the stories below…

Man Cave, our project to support boys and young men with positive mental health also went online, as we worked with West London Zone, who funds the project, to re-design delivery and ensure that we stayed connected to those who needed us most during those difficult few months. We have kept in touch with our Magic Mums, supporting families through mobile phone groups and twice weekly ‘meet-ups’ online. And our Summer Programme for kids and young people was incredible in the circumstances—you can read a recap from Leone Buncombe, our Operations Manager, below.

On the subject of great initiative and cross-team working at P3, a shout-out here to Lisa Towndrow in Finance, who through her contacts arranged for the very generous donation of 67 pairs of pre-loved football boots to our Football Academy.

On the day they were delivered one of the parents had just rung to say their son couldn’t play as he had no boots … a massive thank you to Kirkby Woodhouse Football Club, this has made a real difference!

Thanks to everyone for your immense creativity and hard work.
