This week’s blog is to update you with all the new developments that have been happening at P3 during the last few months.

When we went into lockdown, I settled into my home office thinking that things would be quiet on the development front ... how wrong was!

It’s been a different kind of work to the norm; the number of tenders released has been at the lowest level in ten years, and a raft of grant funding has been released to support charities which was massively oversubscribed and P3 wasn’t eligible for most of these grants.

This said, throughout lockdown our ability to adapt and develop local solutions for the people we work alongside has been nothing short of brilliant! This responsiveness and the positive relationships with local authorities and commissioners means we have been the provider of choice to design and deliver a range of new services in a response to the pandemic.

On a personal note, those who have read my blogs before have heard me talk/moan/cry about the difficulties of school holidays and childcare.

Well, lockdown has taken this to a whole new level; I have a 12-year-old that has almost turned nocturnal, hasn’t wanted to do any school work and has lain on the floor moaning he’s bored whilst I have been on a video call.

I applaud each and every one of you for getting through this—don’t be fooled by the yummy mummies/daddies on Instagram who tell you they have home-schooled every day with a range of fun activities, baked delicious-looking muffins all while holding down a full-time job … no one is that perfect in real life!
